Techno stuff and story

Well this is the first time i have done this so enjoy, here is my story...

In June 2009 I trekked the Inca Trial in Peru to the lost city of Machu Picchu for Macmillan Cancer Support for what would have been my mums 60th birthday year.

Now I am taking on Macmillan's Trek to the summit of Kilimanjaro Challenge in January 2011. This new challenge will be my first overseas challenge for my £20,000 by June 2016 goal for Macmillan to commemorate the 20th anniversary of my mums passing.

Macmillan are a fantastic and unique team of people who looked after my mum in her final months of life in 1996. They are the people everyone forgets at that tough time and they keep doing it day in day out to support, listen and well just let you have a good old cry, but most importantly to me and my family keep our sense of humour at that bleak time.

These challenges and my personal aim are in honour of a very dear friend who passed on the 12th of August 2008 at the age of 28 after a very short and tough battle with the disease god bless you Babs, you are missed. I must also not forget the many other people I know who have been and are still affected by this disease, this is for YOU ALL as well ;0)

To raise funds I will be holding events such as the successful Norte Chico Cabaret night, and keep your eyes peeled for my charity calendar(s).

Over the next 7 years I also intend to take part in numerous Macmillan Overseas Challenges such as walking The Great Wall of China, Trekking the Sahara Desert and the Trans Central America Cycle. As well as overseas challenges I aim to take part in UK based challenges, walking the Coast to Coast walk and heading from north to south along the Pennine Way.

I will be finishing my challenges by once again trekking to the lost city of the Incas Machu Picchu the place that has inspired me in June 2016.
